Transparency: California Dems Halt Effort to Make Unions Disclose How Money Is Spent

California union workers will continue to be in the dark about how their dues are spent after a bill that would’ve forced unions to post this information online was killed along a party-line vote.

The Secretive, Underground Obama Administration

Barack Obama promised that his would be the most transparent administration in history. In reality it is the most furtive White House the country has ever seen. The Obama administration has tried to operate in the dark as much as possible, outside the light of day and in the shadows of deceit.

The Most Transparent and the Most Dishonest

This is a tale about "the most transparent administration in history." We thank President Obama for that description, for we were momentarily at a loss about how to describe the executive branch during his tenure.      On Friday, the most transparent administration in history's State Department released a batch of emails from Hillary Clinton's time as secretary of state. More interesting than what they contained - it was the usual batch of previously denied classified material -  was that they landed on sleepy reporters' desks at 1 o'clock in the morning.

Obama Admin Will Not Reveal to Congress Number of Americans Killed By Iran

The Obama administration is declining to inform Congress about the number of American citizens and troops killed by Iran and its terror proxies, according to a document provided to Congress and obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
The administration was repeatedly asked by Congress to release figures describing how many Americans and Israelis have been killed by Iran’s military and terror activities since the country’s 1979 revolution.

White House Office of Administration drops transparency regulation on freedom of information day

The White House Office of Administration on Monday announced it's deleting regulations subjecting it to the Freedom of Information Act seven years after a federal judge ruled the office doesn't have to comply with the law.

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ruled in June 2008 the Office of Administration was not subject to FOIA regulations because it doesn't employ "the type of substantial independent authority that the D.C. Circuit has found sufficient to make an (executive office of the president) component an agency under the FOIA."  The Office of Administration provides administrative support and business services to the president's executive office.

The Enigma of Barack Obama

Put me down in the Roger Simon camp on this one: without wandering into Birther territory or the inconclusive musings of Jerome Corsi… who the heck is this guy, really?

To put it bluntly: nobody knows nothin’ about the president of the United States, aka the leader of the free world. And what little we do know is highly uninformative and often contradictory.

In a world where every phone call, email, text message, Tweet, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook post, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn link, Google + post, blog post, semaphore, morse code, Braille, and probably burp has been recorded digitally for posterity and beyond, nobody knows what Barack Obama even got in freshman English. (Well, maybe the NSA does, but they’re not telling.)

Does this matter?

House GOP: Obama officials using secret emails to avoid oversight

The House science committee is demanding the White House explain why top administration officials are using secret e-mail accounts and other techniques to conceal their taxpayer-paid activities from public oversight.

The evidence of officials’ efforts to evade transparency laws includes EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson’s use of the fake name “Richard Windsor”, and hidden e-mail accounts, according to a Nov. 16 letter sent by the committee to several White House officials, including Jackson. Jack Cafferty Rips Obama on Failed Openness Pledge

(Hat tip: Stella Guenther, via email/Subject: CNN appears to be waking up)

PoliJAM, 1/6/2010 - CNN’s Liberal Jack Cafferty Rips Obama’s Failed Openness Pledge as ‘Just Another Lie Told for Political Expediency’: Wow! When liberal Jack Cafferty is ripping the Democratic president as harshly as he did today you know that things are really going downhill for President Obama. ∴ During his ‘Cafferty File’ segment, the CNN commentator tore into the president for his failed attempt to even make “a token effort to keep his campaign promises of more openness and transparency in government.” Read more at PoliJAM's blog...

Behind Closed Doors...

Published in the Benton Co. Republicans 1/17/2010 e-Newsletter - President Obama and the Democrat Congressional leadership have cut a sweetheart deal with big labor to exempt them from taxes on union health care plans until 2018, but taxes on the health care plans for other Americans will begin before we see any benefits. This blatant favoritism is JUST PLAIN WRONG!

Why can’t we see what our elected leaders are doing? C-SPAN cameras have not been allowed to show the health care negotiations. Speak up now and ask for the transparency we were promised by this administration. Here’s a link to a petition you can sign: Tell Pres. Obama to keep his promise at Americans for Prosperity (AFP). Greg Walden: Time for transparency in Congress

10/1/2009 - Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) talks with Greta Van Susteren about the discharge petition to force a vote on H. Glenn Beck: The Letter

GLENN BECK: 'THE LETTER', June 17, 2009 by Janet Contreras - GLENN: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona. She writes an open letter to our nation's leadership: I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?

Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation: Read the 12 points of this letter at Glenn Beck's...
