Obama’s Gun-control Hypocrisy Called Out by Alabama Senator

On March 30, President Obama commuted the prison sentences of 62 criminals, 12 of whom were behind bars for gun-related drug crimes. This was just too much for Alabama’s senior Senator Richard Shelby (R), so the next day Shelby sent a stinging letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch. He asked her about the president’s hypocrisy and demanded answers to questions that he posed to her during a committee hearing back in January. Wrote Shelby:

An actor who played a bit part in an independent gangster film is facing 10 years in state prison because he used a prop pellet gun without a state gun permit. Carlo Goias, whose stage name is Carlo Bellario, was charged under New Jersey's strict gun law. It requires permits for firearms, including the airsoft gun Goias used while filming a car chase scene.

Obama's Insidious Assault on Guns Continues

The sudden death earlier this month of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who was an unapologetic supporter of firearms rights, has thrust the 2nd Amendment into the forefront of the burgeoning debate over who might replace him on the Supreme Court. While this is indeed a topic worthy of robust debate, what often is overlooked in such public discussions of the 2nd Amendment, are the many ways this Administration has chipped away at the Amendment outside the scrutiny of the courts.

Obama's Executive Gun Control: No Minimum Threshold Before Private Gun Sales Require Background Checks

On January 4, the White House released a fact sheet which previews the executive gun control Obama will announce Tuesday, and it reveals there is no numerical threshold of sales that a private seller has to cross before being considered “engaged in the business of dealing in firearms.”

Obama set to unveil curbs on gun sellers

According to gun industry insiders and others familiar with the proposals, the changes include requiring an expanded number of small-scale gun sellers to be licensed "and therefore conduct background checks” whenever selling a weapon. This wouldn't close the so-called gun show loophole, though it has the potential to narrow it.

What You Need to Know About Obama’s Plan to Bypass Congress on Guns

Stymied by Republicans in Congress, President Barack Obama is expected to act alone to take executive action to tighten restrictions on gun sales.
White House adviser Valerie Jarrett, speaking at a vigil last week for victims of the 2012 Newtown, Conn., shooting, confirmed that the president has asked his staff to complete a proposal that would expand background checks on gun sales without congressional approval.

Why the War on Guns has Failed

In the wake of the San Bernardino attack, liberals are in a total panic over guns. The New York Times broke a 95-year precedent to editorialize about gun control on its front page. But the Times seems restrained compared with the full-on meltdown at the New York Daily News, which has taken to calling the head of the NRA a "terrorist." Read more at Townhall.com Read More......

How the 'New York Times' and Loretta Lynch Made Me Join the NRA

I am not a complete stranger to guns. I got my merit badge in riflery when I was a kid and have dropped in on a firing range now and again, learning the basics on Glocks and Berettas. I even went shooting with former Governor Rick Perry of Texas.
But the NRA was always a bridge too far. I interviewed Wayne LaPierre, its CEO, once for PJTV, but I never joined. I'm still a Jewish boy from New York whose mother cringed at buying him a cap gun. It's not in my DNA.

The Regime Admits It Has Let Terrorists Into the Country as It Pushes Congress to Strip Americans of Guns

Rush: (Excerpt) The White House on Monday opened up a new fight with Republicans in Congress, challenging them to pass laws to prevent suspected terrorists from purchasing firearms. While at the same time they're telling us they've got this vetting process and for us not to worry about terrorists being among the refugees entering the country, say, from Syria. They're telling us they've got it handled. They're telling us there's nothing to worry about. Nothing to fret over. Don't be xenophobic, don't be bigoted, don't be racist. We got it handled. --Now all of a sudden there's political pressure on Republicans to pass a new gun control law.

Obama: I'm thinking I'll spend my last year in office focused on gun control

Your alternate headline comes from Charles Cooke: “President Obama announces record gun sales in 2016.”
So two of his major priorities heading into a presidential election year are (a) gun-grabbing and (b) telling Americans they’re un-American for worrying about importing thousands of Muslims from the site of the most vicious sectarian war on Earth. Good luck, Hillary.

Obama: Never Letting a Good Mass Shooting Go To Waste

Mere hours after a young, mixed-race religion-hater fatally shot at least nine apparently Christian victims at an Oregon college, President Obama tried to harangue Americans into supporting fresh restrictions on guns, the most severely regulated consumer goods in America.

The shooter has been identified as 20-year-old Chris Harper-Mercer. Police say in mid-morning they received reports of a gunman walking around Umpqua Community College (UCC) near Roseburg, Ore. As is the case in all or perhaps nearly all mass shootings at schools, UCC was a gun-free zone.

ITAR Changes: Keeping Up with the Times or Backdoor Gun Control?

Recently, the State Department announced that they intended to make some changes to ITAR regulations [International Traffic in Arms Regulations] as part of the President’s Export Control Reform efforts. You may have heard the Internet chatter about this measure and the proposed implications of it silencing the media when it comes to posting technical information about the manufacture of weapons (firearms and ammunition.) That being said, there’s more to it when you dig a little deeper, which is exactly what I’ll be doing in this article.

Supreme Court Weighs Review of San Francisco Gun Control Scheme

In its 2008 decision in District of Columbia v. Heller, the U.S. Supreme Court not only struck down Washington, D.C.'s handgun ban, it also struck down D.C.'s requirement that all firearms kept at home be "unloaded and dissembled or bound by a trigger lock or similar device." According to the majority opinion of Justice Antonin Scalia, the individual right secured by the Second Amendment voids such requirements because it protects the right of the people to keep a "lawful firearm in the home operable for the purpose of immediate self-defense."

Wilsonville, OR – The Oregon Republican Party strongly opposes Senate Bill 941, legislation that would require the registration of private gun sales, enforced through excessive penalties, including heavy fines and mandatory jail time. The Platform of the Oregon Republican Party clearly states:
“we demand the protection of individual rights, freedoms and private property by local, state and federal government…” (Section 11)

Eric Holder: Inability to Pass Gun Control My ‘Single Failure’

On Sunday, MSNBC aired Melissa Harris-Perry’s interview of Attorney General Eric Holder and he said the “single failure” of his tenure as AG was the failure to secure gun control.

In the interview, Harris-Perry looked at Holder and said, “You once said the worst day in office was the day that you had to walk through the bloodied aftermath” following the heinous attack on Sandy Hook Elementary. She said, “Children were slaughtered in their classrooms and we have not made any meaningful progress on changing the access to guns in this country. Are we a nation of cowards when it comes to guns?”
