Twitter abuse - '50% of misogynistic tweets from women'
UK - Half of all misogynistic tweets posted on Twitter come from women, a study suggests. --Over a three-week period, think tank counted the number of uses of two particular words as indicators of misogyny. --It found evidence of large-scale misogyny, with 6,500 unique users targeted by 10,000 abusive tweets in the UK alone. --Twitter boss Jack Dorsey has said that tackling abuse is a priority.

EPA to mine Twitter for tweets on diarrhea, vomiting, flu
Showing that there is no end to what the Obama administration will spy on, the Environmental Protection Agency has developed a plan to chart the flu by mining the social website Twitter for tweets on diarrhea, vomiting, nausea and the bug.
The agency is shopping for a company that can search for those terms and several others to determine how many people in the country are suffering from “acute gastroenteritis infections,” or AGI, and where the hot spots are. The agency wants to compare the tweet results with figures from the Centers for Disease Control.

This afternoon, in a press conference, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) admitted that he sent a lewd photo of himself on Twitter and acknowledged other explicit conversations (phone and Twitter sex). He tearfully apologized to his wife, his staff, his supporters and his constituents. FOX

Tweeting to the Left: Twitter’s Hidden Bias

Recently, Twitter announced that it would be eventually deleting its "suggested user" feature-because of its pro-Democratic bias."
FYI: A higher percentage of Republicans use Twitter in the national political sphere: 22.3 percent of congressional Republicans use Twitter, while only 8.5 percent of congressional Democrats do. As of September 2009, Republicans in Congress were out-tweeting Democratic representatives; 64 percent of congressional tweets came from Republicans, as opposed to the Democratic Party's embarrassing 36 percent.
