Education Insanity

Some credit Albert Einstein, others credit Benjamin Franklin, with the observation that "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing year after year and expecting different results." Whomever we credit, he was absolutely right. A perfect example of that insanity is education in general and particularly black education.

Reds Exploiting Blacks: The Roots of Black Lives Matter

The Black Lives Matter [1] movement (BLM) casts itself as a spontaneous uprising born of inner city frustration, but is, in fact, the latest and most dangerous face of a web of well-funded communist/socialist organizations that have been agitating against America for decades. Its agitation has provoked police killings and other violence, lawlessness and unrest in minority communities throughout the U.S. If allowed to continue, that agitation could devolve into anarchy and civil war. The BLM crowd appears to be spoiling for just such an outcome.

Misleading and Using Blacks

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia ran headlong into the leftist meat grinder by questioning whether college admission of blacks with academic achievement levels significantly lower than the rest of the student body is beneficial to blacks. His question came up during oral arguments in Fisher v. University of Texas, wherein the court will rule whether the use of race in college admission decisions violates the 14th Amendment's guarantee of "equal protection of the laws" to all citizens.

The Coming Democratic Crack-Up

Nobody explained the crack-up of the New Deal coalition better than New York Mayor Ed Koch at the 1980 Democratic convention:
When I ran for Mayor, I went up to a Bronx senior citizens center, and I told 200 senior citizens: “Ladies and gentlemen, a judge I helped elect was mugged recently. And do you know what that judge did, ladies and gentlemen? He called a press conference and he said to the newsmen, ‘This mugging of me will in no way affect my decision in matters of this kind.’ And an elderly lady got up in the back of the room and said, ‘Then mug him again.’”

Black on White Violence Is Accelerating in America

COURT HOUSE – Colin Flaherty is a noted journalist for 30 years, whose works have appeared in major newspapers including The New York Times, Washington Post and Los Angeles Times, and has been published in 1,000 sites around the world and received 50 journalism awards. Flaherty made an appearance Nov. 3 at Atlantic Cape Community College to speak about black-on-white violence, a topic, he stated, which does not receive much press.  The subject makes editors uncomfortable, Flaherty said. Liberals, he said, cringe at the idea of black-on-white violence and police underreport it.

CLARKE: Liberal policies have destroyed the black family

The latest attempt by liberals to help black people is underway in our K-12 urban public schools. These do-gooders are now defining down socially acceptable behavior for black students in school. Bad behavior is being excused and attempts to hold black kids accountable by enforcing codes of conduct are called racist. Having a sense of discipline has always been considered a virtue, a redeeming quality, but now its roots are claimed to lie in racism.

The Appalling Atrocity in America's Public Schools

David Horowitz - There is a human tragedy smoldering in America’s inner cities. Twelve million poor children, mainly black and Hispanic, are trapped in failing government schools that are teaching them nothing. As a result, they will never get a chance at a middle-class life. Virtually every school board and every administration in inner city districts is controlled by Democrats, and has been for over fifty years. Everything that is wrong with inner city schools that policy can fix, Democrats are responsible for.

Black Labor Force Participation Rate Under Obama Hits Rock Bottom--Lowest Level Ever Recorded

Five years in to Barack Obama’s presidency, the number of African-Americans participating in the labor force has hit rock bottom. The news media has ignored this stunning revelation from Friday’s monthly jobs report by the Labor Department.   The exception has been PBS, which interviewed economist Dean Baker who had written about it in a report published Friday.  “The drop in labor force participation was sharpest for African Americans, who saw a decline of 0.3 percentage points to 60.2 percent, the lowest rate since December of 1977.

Who's Afraid of Black Republicans?

Fear of a Black Republican is the brainchild of Kevin Williams, a white Republican who has spent his life in Trenton, New Jersey. It was precipitated by an encounter with a county party chairman who scoffed at the idea that trying to get African-American votes in the majority-Black city would yield any success. The response made him wonder whether the Republican Party truly wanted to expand the base.

Williams and his wife financed the film, which explores the party's history with African-Americans. Williams interviewed Republican leaders, including former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, 2012 GOP presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, and former U.S. Sen. Ed Brooke, who is African-American. He also spoke with liberals like Tavis Smiley, Cornel West and other political observers and participants around the nation about how serious the party is about attracting African-American and other minority voters.

Here Williams talks to BET.com about responses to the film and whether he thinks the GOP is all talk and no action.
