Census ‘faked’ 2012 election jobs report

In the home stretch of the 2012 presidential campaign, from August to September, the unemployment rate fell sharply — raising eyebrows from Wall Street to Washington.

The decline — from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September — might not have been all it seemed. The numbers, according to a reliable source, were manipulated.

And the Census Bureau, which does the unemployment survey, knew it.

Study finds IRS suppression of Tea Party swung 2012 election

A new study by the American Enterprise Institute -- "Do Political Protests Matter? Evidence From The Tea Party Movement" -- finds that the movement boosted Republican turnout by three to six million votes in the 2010 election. This effect was blunted in the 2012 election, though, because growth in the movement stalled.  That slowdown happened, co-author and AEI economist Stan Veuger notes, at the same time that the IRS began coming down hard on these groups. He argues in a RealClearMarkets.com article that this most likely had a major impact in the 2012 election.  "The founders, members, and donors of new Tea Party groups found themselves incapable of exercising their constitutional rights, and the Tea Party's impact was muted in the 2012 election cycle," Veuger said.

Taxmageddon Would Wreak Havoc on Oregon Taxpayers  Sven R. Larson, Ph.D.

By now, I am sure you have heard of Taxmageddon – the $494 billion tax increase set to hit America’s already overburdened taxpayers in January 2013. If you haven’t, check out this informative website provided by the Heritage Foundation. Taxmageddon is a combination of expiring Bush-era tax cuts, expiring payroll tax cuts, and new incoming ObamaCare taxes. Together they will create the largest single-year tax increase in American history and very likely the largest tax increase ever created in the entire world.

Obama Guts Welfare Reform  Obama has overturned Congress and the law again. His Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released an official policy directive rewriting the welfare reform law of 1996. The new policy guts the federal work requirementsthat were the foundation of the Clinton-era reform.

Welfare reform replaced the old Aid to Families with Dependent Children with a new program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). The whole point was that able-bodied adults should be required to work or prepare for work as a condition of receiving welfare aid.

This reform was very successful.TANF became the only welfare program (out of more than 70) that promoted greater self-reliance. It moved 2.8 million families off the welfare rolls and into jobs so that they were providing for themselves. Recipients were required to perform at least 20–30 hours per week of work or job preparation activities in exchange for the cash benefit.

Now, Obama's HHS is claiming that it can waive those work requirements that are at the heart of the law, and without Congress's consent.

Barone: To Get a Mandate, GOP Must Win Another Election

By Michale Barone
Those who consider themselves constitutional conservatives should take care to consider not only the powers that the Constitution confers on the different branches of government and reserves to the states and the people, but also the schedule that the Constitution sets up for sharp changes and reversals of public policy. Freedom Line BLOG: 2012 the Year of the Senate?

CFIF FREEDOM LINE, 4/9/2011 by Ashton Ellis: The (British) Guardian promotes an interesting theory about the 2012 electoral cycle: maybe Republicans should focus more on winning the Senate than the presidency. Here’s the rationale:
And here’s more potential bad news: in 2014, another 20 Senate Democrats are up for re-election, compared to just 14 Republicans. That means over two successive election cycles, 43 Democrats – 80% of those currently in office – must defend their Senate seats, compared to just 24 Republicans. Could the GOP end up with a 60-vote super-majority of its own, just two years before laying siege to the White House in a post Obama contest? Read more at Freedom Line...

Herman Cain Mulling Presidential Run

7/30/2010 by John Eidson (via email/PART 1) - WorldNetDaily reports that tea party activist Herman Cain is considering a campaign to become America's second black president by ousting its first in the election two years from now. (Actually, Cain would be the country's first 100% black president.) ∴ Although unable to match then-Sen. Barack Obama's impressive presidential qualifications -- 20 years as a community organizer -- Cain has a few of his own: former president and CEO of Godfather's Pizza, former president and CEO of the National Restaurant Association, and chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City. He's also been vice president of Burger King, vice president of Pillsbury Company, a mathematician for the U.S. Department of the Navy and a business analyst for Coca Cola. ∴ His formal education includes a bachelors degree in mathematics from Morehouse College and a master's degree in computer science from Purdue University.

A man in love with his country...
The indignities of growing up in a segregated society gave Herman Cain every reason to be filled with hate and bitterness. But much to his credit, he never allowed himself to be influenced by people who see America as a fundamentally unjust and incurable racist place, people like William Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Recognizing that no nation has ever done more to make good on wrongs committed against it own citizens, Herman Cain forged his share of the American dream by seeing his country for what it is -- a land of unlimited opportunity that never stops trying to improve. To judge him for yourself, click here to see him discuss the hardships his parents endured, and his full-throated endorsement of Ronald Reagan's belief that America is the last best hope of mankind.

Is the tea party movement racist?
If anyone should know, that person is Herman Cain -- he is one of the tea party's most prominent members. Read what he has to say here.

NRO: The Battle Is Lost, and the War Has Begun

NRO/CRITICAL CONDITION, 3/22/2010 by Jeffrey H. Anderson - [Excerpt] James Madison’s words cannot be repeated often enough: “The cool and deliberate sense of the community ought, in all governments, and actually will, in all free governments, ultimately prevail over the views of its rulers.” The American people don’t want Obamacare, and the will of the American people will ultimately prevail over the will of their rulers — starting in November. ∴ Repeal will be achieved through a three-step process: First, the vast majority of Americans who oppose Obamacare will elect members to Congress who will actually reflect their views. Second, they will elect a president who will actually reflect their views. Third, this new Congress and new president will repeal the overhaul. (Remember, only 1 percent of Obamacare — based on its projected costs over the next ten years — will have kicked in by then.) Read full post at National Review Online... Read More......

An Anti-Obama Agenda for the GOP

WASHINGTON POST, 5/12/2009 by William Kristol - The Republican Party's navel is a pretty unattractive thing. ∴ So maybe Republicans should stop obsessively gazing at it. Instead, the GOP might focus on taking on the Obama administration, whose policies are surprisingly vulnerable to political and substantive attack. Battling Barack Obama is an enterprise that offers better grounds for Republican hope than indulging in spasms of introspection or bouts of petty recrimination. Read more at the Washington Post...
