Oregon State Professor Nicolas Drapela wants to know 'why' his contract was not renewed
Nicolas Drapela, Oregon State University Chemistry Professor, was recently informed without explanation that his contract was not being renewed. In 2007 and 2008 Dr. Drapela gave a couple public lectures questioning human activity as a cause for global warming. Was the professor on the wrong side of the AGW issue according to OSU? Listen to Lars Larson's Interview with Dr. Drapela.

A message from Art Robinson
Dear Friends,
There will be a rally in support of Professor Higginbotham and the three Robinson OSU PhD students on the OSU Memorial Union Quad beginning at 2:30pm on April 20 - this coming Wednesday. This rally is being organized by the Linn County Republicans. If you are able to attend, please come out and help us.
The rally begins at 2:30 pm on the the Memorial Union Quad (14th & Monroe, Corvallis, OR). Parking is $1.00 per hour in the student lots - free parking behind the Hilton Hotel - parking lot P (www.oregonstate.edu/campusmap). Free 2 hour parking is also available in surrounding areas.
I will be speaking to the Linn County Republican Women's meeting at 11:45 am on Wednesday April 20 at Pop's Branding Iron restaurant (corner of Pacific Boulevard and Madison Avenue in SE Albany) which is about 3 hours before the rally begins. I'll speak again at the rally in support of the students and Professor Higginbotham.
The OSU President, Edward Ray, still refuses to speak with the Robinson students or with me, even though he has been free with his criticism of us behind our backs. So, we will take our message to him on his own campus. (I know, he doesn't own it. The taxpayers own it, but he thinks he does.)
Lars Larson, broadcasting from the Memorial Quad on Friday, opened this public discussion at OSU. We will continue it with the rally on Wednesday.
Will President Ray have the courage to attend this rally and speak for himself? I have challenged him to debate the matter on the Quad on Wednesday at 3:00 pm. Ray's friend Peter DeFazio was not courageous enough to debate. Is Ray?
Come on Wednesday and see.
Thank you for all of your help.

OSU College Republicans' 2nd Amendment Week on Campus
From RJ Friedman (via email), 4/13/2010: Free Concealed Handgun License Course
Hey everyone,
Second Amendment Week is off to a good start; we have sold a bunch of raffle tickets, hosted Chris Dudley on campus, been promoted on Lars Larson's show, and just today a lovely article was written about our event by Ben Price in the Barometer (thanks for the publicity)! ∴ Anyways, this is just a reminder that tomorrow at 6pm in Milam Auditorium we will be hosting a FREE for students Concealed Handgun License class / gun safety course. Make sure you bring your friends - I am looking to break last year's state-wide record of 175 attendees at a single CHL class. ∴ Also, don't forget to join the raffle. We are selling tickets all week out in the quad. If you don't want the gun, your dad might for fathers day or something! You will be competing against Chris Dudley, who we got to buy some tickets today!
See you this week,
RJ Friedman

ASOSU: Gun resolution involving concealed carry not approved
Important request for letters/emails from the President of the OSU College Republicans!
Hi everyone,
Well, last night [4/28/2009] we had a decision in the ASOSU Senate (student government here at Oregon State), and in a 14 for, 15 against, 12 abstain vote, the motion to pass Resolution 2 failed. First it tied, and then the Chair voted no on it, saying that Resolution 1 already covered what I was trying to say in Resolution 2. Resolution 1, as a reminder, recommended that the University abide by all state law. Resolution 2 went further, suggesting that the University abide by ORS 166.170, which states that the Legislative Assembly is the sole entity which can regulate the use and possession of firearms in the state of Oregon.
Absolutely no evidence was provided by the dissenters, and I am strongly confident that they voted the way they did because of their political bias. They voted to uphold an illegal and unjust university rule, and their votes were not derived from any evidence whatsoever. One even complained how nobody provided evidence against my case, and then voted no anyways (Senator Kleiber).
Evidence I provided: live testimony from Senator Brian Boquist, a statement from Benton County District Attorney John Haroldson, a Legislative Council Ruling, a petition signed by ~170 individuals, a signed statement from Representative Jim Thompson, wording of the actual law that was being broken, and more.
As far as I'm concerned, ASOSU is a joke. Apparently the 2nd Amendment isn't important to ASOSU. Here are all the names of the Senators that voted against Resolution 2:
-----------------------------------
25 + Senator- Roberta Bryan
Business Senator- Josh Harbolt
Engineering Senators- Kari Varin, Matt Baumgartner, Brice Plouse
HHS Senator- Courtney Clark, Sarah Ballini, D'Anna Piro
Liberal Arts Senator- Michael Miller
Science Senator- Alia Beyer
Graduate Senator- Douglas Van Bossuyt, Kandice Kleiber
Panhellenic- Cristin Childress
Women's Center Representative- Heather Nicole Christian
ASOSU Senate Chairman- Jerred Taylor
------------------------------------
Please, feel free to email them with your opinions. When I say feel free, I really mean 'please do this for me'! But please, keep it couth. The last thing we need is to look crazy and angry - crazy angry people and guns don't mix, so don't provide them 'ammo'. At the end of this email I provided a list of their emails, just copy-paste and send to all at once :-). I suggest saying something like 'I am extremely disappointed that you voted against ASOSU Resolution 2. Not only are you supporting an illegal rule, and thus, lawlessness, but you are supporting an unjust rule that is a violation of my civil rights.'
To those of you who are not students, I ask you to participate as well - because it is us, students in Oregon, who are the future of this state and this nation, and we cannot let my colleagues get away with injustice and lawlessness now, for if we do, they shall learn that they can get away with injustice and lawlessness in the future. "Where law ends, tyranny begins" (John Locke).
Thanks everyone,
