How can we believe in ‘global warming’ when the temperature records providing the ‘evidence’ for that warming cannot be trusted?

It’s a big question – and one which many people, even on the sceptical side of the argument, are reluctant to ask.

Gore tied to Truman... No, not that Truman

CONSERVATIVE CAMP, 3/5/2010 by Robert Ditmar - Mr. Ditmar ties former Vice President Al Gore to The Truman Show in a semi-spoof piece entitled The Gore-man Show:

"In the movie, The Truman Show, Jim Carrey portrays fictional character Truman Burbank, who has been living in an artificial world as the main star of a television reality soap opera called The Truman Show, airing 24 hours, 7 days a week. Unbeknown-st to Truman, everything around him, including his family, friends, wife, job, house, buildings and world are nothing more than facades, in which thousands of tiny, hidden cameras record his every move. Even the land, ocean and weather cycles in which he goes about his life are completely false, controlled by a maniacal director by the name of Christof in a control room hidden in “the sky” of a gigantic dome in which Truman’s world resides..."

I might not have posted and linked to this piece except for the Alinsky tactics used against anyone who questioned that the "science was settled" regarding global warming/climate change, the draconian fixes and proposed legislation, without true debate. Republicans do not oppose clean water, air, the health of the planet and honest scientific inquiry. World’s biggest coal company brings U.S. government to court in climate fraud

CLIMATEGATE, 2/17/2010 by John O'Sullivan - The world’s largest private sector coal business, the Peabody Energy Company (PEC) has filed a mammoth 240-page “Petition for Reconsideration,” a full-blown legal challenge against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. ∴ The petition must be answered and covers the entire body of leaked emails from ‘Climategate’ as well as those other ‘gate’ revelations including the frauds allegedly perpetrated under such sub-headings as ‘Himalayan Glaciers,’ ‘African Agricultural Production,’ ‘Amazon Rain Forests,’ ‘Melting Mountain Ice,’ ‘Netherlands Below Sea Level’ as well as those much-publicized abuses of the peer-review literature and so called ‘gray literature.’ These powerful litigants also draw attention to the proven criminal conduct by climate scientists in refusing to honor Freedom of Information law (FOIA) requests. ∴ Peabody is, in effect, challenging the right of the current U.S. federal government to introduce cap and trade regulations by the ‘back door.’ In this article we summarize Peabody’s legal writ. The recurring theme of the last month was that nothing remained certain. John McCain who is facing a tough challenge for his Senate seat summarized the situation when he, “no incumbent is safe” as anger at Washington reached levels he has never seen before. All the old certainties seem shaky. And Fred Barnes at the Weekly Standard half-pityingly says that President Obama has “been reduced to stunts”. ∴ What is to be done when situation is undergoing an unpredictable transformation? Even if every question raised in these e-mails were conceded, the cumulative case for global climate disruption would be strong. The evidence is found not only in East Anglian computers but also in changing crop zones, declining species, melting ice sheets and glaciers, thinning sea ice and rising sea levels. No other scientific theory explains these changes as well as global warming related to the rise in greenhouse gas emissions since the Industrial Revolution. Over millennia, the climate shifts in natural cycles. But we seem to be increasing the pace of change so rapidly that plants, animals and humans may not be able to adequately adjust. The scientific technological elite

That speech was also an early warning of the current unholy alliance between the government and a scientific community dependent on the government for its funding.

C02 is the boogy-man, right? Well, it seems that taking a close look at how the big guy puts up the big numbers is in order right about now. ∴ The U.S. NOAA openly admits to producing a CO2 record which “contains no actual data.” Two of the five NOAA “baseline” stations are downwind from erupting volcanoes. Upfront money needed to ease UN climate deal

AP Report, 11/29/2009 - NEW YORK (AP) – Money on the table — perhaps $10 billion a year or more — could help close a deal in Denmark next month and keep climate talks moving toward a new global treaty in 2010. But if poorer nations see too little offered up front, the U.N. conference could end in discord. ∴ The money would help developing countries cope with ocean flooding, drought and other effects of climate change, while also helping them cut down on emissions of global-warming gases. The funds might eventually come from new sources, such as a tax on airline flights, but negotiators for now are seeking quicker infusions. ∴ "Rich countries must put at least $10 billion a year on the table to kick-start immediate action up to 2012," the U.N. climate chief, Yvo de Boer, told reporters last week in a preview of the two-week conference opening next Monday in Copenhagen. Climate change data dumped

UK TIMES, 11/29/2009 - SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based. ∴ It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years. ∴ The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation.
