Is the West Dead Yet?
Elites who are exempt by virtue of their money and influence from the consequences of living among millions of displaced Africans, Arabs, or Latin Americans berate ad nauseam their less-well-connected, supposedly illiberal fellow citizens.
But note that no elite Westerner wants to face the cause of the malady: namely, that the failure in the Third World to adopt Western ideas of consensual government, equality between the sexes, free-market capitalism, individual liberty, and transparent meritocracy logically leads to mayhem and poverty.

Report: One-third of vets on pending medical care list already dead
An internal Veterans Affairs Department report states that about one-third of the veterans waiting to receive medical care from the agency have already died.
A review of veteran death records provided to the Huffington Post found that, as of April, 847,822 veterans were awaiting healthcare and that of those, 238,647 were already deceased.

UBL Dead & Gone
There has been so much coverage of the Sunday, May 1, killing of Usama bin Laden that we're not covering it here. The changes in details issued from the White House are disturbing, however. It was announced today that President Obama will not allow pictures of bin Laden to be be shown.

Paul Harvey passed away today
Holy Coast, 2/28/2009 by Rick Moore - Paul Harvey, the legendary news voice of ABC Radio, died at the age of 90. I always enjoyed his 15 minute news broadcasts and his "Rest of the Story" shows. They don't make them like him anymore. Paul Harvey....Good Day!
