A major donor to the Wounded Warrior Project veterans’ charity called Thursday for the nonprofit's CEO to resign in light of allegations of lavish spending on staff meetings, according to a CBS News report.Fred and Dianne Kane, the parents of two Iraq War veterans, have donated $325,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project since 2009 through their personal charity, Tee-off for a Cause.

Furious Charity Pulls Calais Camp Funding After 'Migrants BURN Food and Clothes'

A CHARITY has stopped providing aid to the Calais 'jungle' because aid workers have concluded the majority of migrants in the camp do not need to be there.


The Human Relief Foundation (HRF) has been giving aid to the migrant camp with the belief that its occupants are fleeing war-torn countries like Syria. However, the charity decided to pull the plug after its deputy chief executive Kassim Tokan recently paid a visit to Calais.

Report: Only 6% Clinton Foundation Expenditures Go To Charity

Monday on Fox Business Network’s “The Willis Report,” host Gerri Willis broke down the charitable spending of the Clinton Foundation.
Willis said, “What if you were to analyze the Clinton Foundation like any charitable organization? That is a question that we’re asking tonight. Does the Clinton Foundation wisely spend charitable dollars? Well the experts weighed in. The answer is a resounding no. One expert even called it a slush fund for the Clintons. These are not politicos. These are charity experts.”

House Dems block charitable tax bill

House Democrats blocked legislation on Thursday that would have permanently extended three tax credits for charitable giving, ending an effort to give nonprofits a last-minute victory.   The bill got a strong majority in the House, with 275 members voting for it, including 47 Democrats. But the measure fell eight votes short of the two-thirds majority it needed to pass, with 149 Democrats voting against it after House Democratic leaders whipped against it and President Obama threatened a veto. Read more at The Hill

Just ask Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid.  “When you make billions of dollars a year, you can be as immoral and dishonest as your money will allow you to be,” the Nevadan said February 26 on the Senate floor. “These two brothers,” Reid added, “are about as un-American as anyone that I can imagine.”  San Francisco billionaire and Democratic campaign contributor Tom Steyer told Men’s Journal that David Koch is “just a famously evil person!”

TCPalm, Jan. 21 - Letter: Unlike liberals, conservatives view charitable giving as a personal duty

Congratulations to President Barack Obama. I am glad he has figured out what conservatives have known for a long time: Charity begins at home. His call to service is admirable, yet a little “Johnny come lately.” Although the incomes of liberal families average 6 percent higher than those of conservative families, conservative-headed households give, on average, 30 percent more to charity than the average liberal-headed household.

People who reject the idea that “government has a responsibility to reduce income inequality” give an average of four times more than people who accept that proposition.

While conservatives tend to regard giving as a personal rather than a governmental responsibility, some liberals consider private charity a retrograde phenomenon — a poor palliative for an inadequate welfare state and a distraction from achieving adequacy by force (by increasing taxes).

I am sure these facts will startle some, including Republicans. Why is this information not widely known? Simply, conservative Republicans are modest people. They do not lend themselves to self-aggrandizement.

A conservative is a principled person who believes in the power of the individual, much in the same way Martin Luther King Jr. did. I am sure many also will be surprised to learn that Mr. King was a Republican.

It is time for the silent majority of the Republican Party to be heard, to become vocal and stand for principle again. This left-leaning trek to the center is no more than capitulation and fear.

So while so many shiver in reverence to the new president of the United States, I say good luck, Mr. Obama, and welcome to what we conservatives have known for a long time. Charity begins at home.

I hope your service plans reinforce this idea and do not include my tax dollars in your grand scheme.
