Karl Rove and the GOP Socialists

Happy New Year.

It’s war.

While America was celebrating the holidays, the Wall Street Journal ran a page one story the day after Christmas headlined as follows:
GOP, Business Recast Message
Republican Leaders, Allies Aim to Diminish Clout of Most-Conservative Activists
The story said this right up front:
Meanwhile, major donors and advocacy groups, such as the Chamber of Commerce and American Crossroads, are preparing an aggressive effort to groom and support more centrist Republican candidates for Congress in 2014’s midterm elections.

Karl Rove updates 2010 Senate races

KARL ROVE'S NOTES (fb), 5/26/2010 - "New polls in the wake of last week's primaries have led to a slew of changes on the Senate map. Pennsylvania moves from leaning Republican to a toss-up after new polls show Sestak (D) closing on Toomey (R), and despite a primary battle between Sen. Bennet (D) and Romanoff (D), Colorado also moves from lean GOP to toss-up. California shifts from toss-up to lean Democratic as new polls show Sen. Boxer (D) ahead of her prospective Republican opponents. But Washington becomes a bright spot for Republicans as new polls show the entry of Rossi (R) to the race against Sen. Murray (D) shifts the state from leaning Democratic to a toss-up."

Obama Has Overpromised and Underdelivered

WWW.ROVE.COM, 4/8/2010 by Karl Rove - Originally published in the Wall Street Journal on 4/7: Obama Has Overpromised and Underdelivered... But the GOP will still have to make the case for itself this fall. ∴ We have heard for months that the Democrats' election prospects would brighten once they pivot from health care to the economy. But that seems increasingly unlikely. The reason is simple: President Barack Obama overpromised on his stimulus package and then grossly underdelivered. That has caused public confidence in his ability to handle the economy to drop. ∴ Of course, that hasn't stopped the administration from spinning. Take this past Sunday's media blitz in which White House advisers swarmed the morning talk programs. National Economic Council Director Larry Summers, for one, said on ABC's "This Week" that the most recent unemployment numbers are "hardly satisfactory," but nonetheless "good news" because job creation "is running somewhat ahead of what the administration was forecasting." ∴ That doesn't square with what administration officials said last year. Pass the stimulus and unemployment would be at roughly 7.5% by now, they promised. Read more at Rove.com... Read More......
