Obama’s DOJ Sues Small Town for Nixing Rezoning Plan to Build Mosque
The Obama Justice Department is suing an Illinois town for denying a rezoning application to convert an office building into an Islamic temple. Anywhere American law and Islamic law conflict, it’s American law that has to give way.
Islamic supremacists and Muslim Brotherhood organizations like CAIR have once again called upon their running dogs at the Department of Justice, to impose the sharia and usurp American law for Islamic law. The DoJ has become the de facto legal arm of terror-tied Muslim Brotherhood groups in this country. What small town can go up against the U.S. government’s vast resources and endless taxpayer-funded muscle?

Anatomy of a Failed Liberal State
When I grew up in the north suburbs of Chicago in the 1960s and '70s, Illinois was still a financial and industrial powerhouse. The Land of Lincoln had a low-rate flat income tax, the property taxes were reasonable, the state ran budget surpluses, and Illinois was the home of such iconic mega-employers as Caterpillar, Sears Roebuck and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
The public schools were pretty good back then and a dedicated corps of teachers put kids first -- they didn't walk out on strike, and they didn't have the fat pensions they can get now when retiring at age 55.

Undocumented migrants with kidney trouble flock to Illinois
Chicago has become the promised land for undocumented migrants with kidney problems, people who in other states receive no medical care due to their immigration status although here they can get free dialysis and kidney transplants.
The Illinois legislature last October passed a law that provides funds for kidney transplants for undocumented migrants, the first such legislation in the United States.

U.S. Supreme Court Agrees To Look At Forced Unionization
The United States Supreme Court will hear a case involving the forced
unionization of "personal care providers" in Illinois that the Mackinac Center
Legal Foundation and two other groups asked the Court to hear.
If the high court rules against the Illinois forced unionization, the
decision could outlaw such schemes nationwide. In Michigan, the Service
Employees International Union took more than $34 million from tens of thousands
of home-based caregivers who were forced into the union. That scheme officially
ended this year.

Illinois Governor proposes federal bailout for his state
Illinois is one of the public union states that will one day need a federal bailout because of their pension shortfalls. Governor Quinn has now made that official by pointing out in his budget proposal that, “significant long-term improvements” in that debt will come from “seeking a federal guarantee of the debt.” ✧ Wonder how the governors of other states that have taken fiscal responsibility for their spending or “right to work” states will enjoy subsidizing undisciplined public union states like Illinois and California? Democrat Blogojevich Impeached
The Illinois House impeached Gov. Rod Blagojevich (114-1), directing the Senate to put the state's 40th chief executive on trial. It was the first time in the state's 190-year history that a governor has been impeached. Blagojevich was also the first democrat in decades to win governor in Illinois.

Selling Obama's Senate Seat
Illinois: The indictment of Gov. Blagojevich injects a colossal dose of uncertainty into an already unpredictable situation. Who will fill Obama's Senate seat, for how long, when will we get a replacement, and how?
There is nothing to keep Blagojevich—tomorrow, or at some later date from a jail cell—from appointing the U.S. Senator to fill the seat Obama vacated last month, shortly after his election as President. The Senate's Democratic leadership, however, has made it clear they might refuse to seat any senator appointed by the governor, in light of his indictment and his alleged intention to sell the seat. Further, any politician with any political aspirations would be very hesitant to accept a Blagojevich appointment.
Lawmakers in Springfield are considering changing the law, stripping the governor of appointment power—which, under the U.S. Constitution, is vested in state governments broadly, and not specifically in governors—and calling for a swift special election early next year. Washington Democrats advocate such a course of action.
