Saudis, ISIS, Al-Qaeda Agree: Time for Jihad Against Russia

The leader of al-Qaeda linked group al-Nusra Front is encouraging jihadists in the Caucasus to attack Russia. His call follows similar condemnation of Russia from rival jihadi group the Islamic State (ISIS) and a number of Saudi clerics.
“If the Russian army kills the people of Syria, then kill their people. And if they kill our soldiers, then kill their soldiers. An eye for an eye,” declared Abu Mohamed al-Jolani.

Al-Qaeda returns. The new face of terror

The West thought it was winning the battle against jihadist terrorism. It should think again. A FEW months ago Barack Obama declared that al-Qaeda was “on the path to defeat”. Its surviving members, he said, were more concerned for their own safety than with plotting attacks on the West. Terrorist attacks of the future, he claimed, would resemble those of the 1990s—local rather than transnational and focused on “soft targets”. His overall message was that it was time to start winding down George Bush’s war against global terrorism. Mr Obama might argue that the assault on the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi by al-Qaeda’s Somali affiliate, the Shabab, was just the kind of thing he was talking about: lethal, shocking, but a long way from the United States. Yet the inconvenient truth is that, in the past 18 months, despite the relentless pummelling it has received and the defeats it has suffered, al-Qaeda and its jihadist allies have staged an extraordinary comeback.

Does Obama know he’s fighting on al-Qa’ida’s side?

By Robert Fisk - If Barack Obama decides to attack the Syrian regime, he has ensured – for the very first time in history – that the United States will be on the same side as al-Qa’ida. ✧ Quite an alliance! Was it not the Three Musketeers who shouted “All for one and one for all” each time they sought combat? This really should be the new battle cry if – or when – the statesmen of the Western world go to war against Bashar al-Assad.

Kincaid: Al Jazeera is a “Threat to national Security”

In early January this year, Accuracy in Media’s Cliff Kincaid called for a Congressional investigation of Al Jazeera’s purchase of Current TV citing it as a threat to national security (video at link).

Saturday evening, February 23, Michael Thompson at WND followed up: Congress resisting calls to investigate Al Jazeera. ✧ Quoting Cliff Kincaid's original call, Thompson reiterated, Kincaid said if anyone doubts Al Jazeera should be investigated, “I say, let’s have a congressional hearing.” ✧ “Let’s put the evidence on the record to demonstrate how Al Jazeera works hand and glove with al-Qaida and other terrorist groups,” he said. ✧ Kincaid said his organization “simply wants Congress to do its job.” ✧ “Ever since Current TV and Al Jazeera made this deal, my group has simply said – let’s investigate and see if the law is being followed, or if Al Jazeera is a terrorist organization.” Read more at WND...
