Kentucky Clerk In Gay Marriage Dispute Switches to the Republican Party
A county clerk in Kentucky who was briefly jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples said on Friday that she and her family have switched to the Republican Party because the Democrats no longer represented them.
Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, 50, who has said her beliefs as an Apostolic Christian prevent her from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, said they had changed parties last week. She was a long-time Democrat in eastern Kentucky.

Exclusive: FBI Video Shows Al Qaeda in Kentucky Handling Heavy Weapons
An al Qaeda-linked terrorist, who was resettled in the U.S. as an Iraq War refugee after allegedly killing American soldiers, was caught on camera in Kentucky handling heavy weapons that the FBI said he believed would be sent to insurgents back in Iraq. The 2010 video, obtained exclusively by ABC News, was part of a broader ABC News investigation into the flawed refugee vetting program, which officials said may have let “dozens” of terrorists into the country. READ FULL EXCLUSIVE: US May Have Let ‘Dozens’ of Terrorists Into Country as Refugees In the video, Waad Ramadan Alwan is seen expertly field stripping what the FBI identified as a Russian PKM machine gun. Other still images provided by the FBI from hours-worth of surveillance footage show Alwan and an accomplice, Mohanad Shareef Hammadi, handling a Stinger missile launcher and a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launcher. An FBI agent assigned to the sting operation that captured the video told ABC News that Alwan had bragged to an informant about killing American soldiers in Iraq. “He said he had them ‘for lunch and dinner,’” FBI Louisville Supervisory Special Agent Tim Beam said. The FBI said that beyond sending the arms back to extremists in Iraq, Alwan spoke of targeting a specific American soldier in the U.S. and possibly attacking other homeland targets.

Poll: Grimes Edging McConnell in Kentucky
Voters in the Bluegrass State aren't pleased with the state of affairs in
Washington, and they appear to be taking it out on Mitch McConnell.
The Senate minority leader narrowly trails Kentucky's Democratic secretary of
state, Alison Lundergan Grimes, in his 2014 re-election bid, according to a new
survey conducted by the Democratically affiliated Public Policy Polling for
progressive group Americans United for Change.
Lundergan Grimes leads McConnell by a two-point margin (45 percent to 43
percent), which is within the poll’s margin of error (plus or minus 2.8
percent). Twelve percent of respondents remained undecided.
