Obama Wants Conservatives to Self-Cannibalize Over His Executive Action on Immigration

IMPORTANT ARTICLE by Mike Gonzalez
Having received a walloping in the elections, President Obama has promised to double down by tearing the country apart over illegal immigration. “I’ve shown a lot of patience,” he said with characteristic conceit at Wednesday’s contrition-free press conference. ✧ Make no mistake. It will be the opening salvo of a two-year campaign that will decide which course the country takes: one that fundamentally alters our way of life or one that conserves our many blessings.

Winning the Message

Republicans lost the presidential election by a hairs breadth, and the echo chambers rang with cries of fixing the message. Republicans were beaten up over the Obama tax hikes, and once again, the echo chambers rang with cries of fixing the message. Then came the debt ceiling and now the sequester. No matter the issue, Republicans seem to find themselves on the losing side of public opinion; baffled and with no plan to fix it. Some suggest that Republicans should pander to 50% plus one of the voters. Others suggest that the messaging should be adapted to appeal to not-old, not-white, not-men. What if the strategists are baffled because the voting results and poll numbers are poor indicators? What if the message already resonates with the vast majority of Americans, and it is only the delivery that needs to be addressed?

What The GOP Cannot Have Is A Failure To Communicate

HUGH HEWITT.COM/BLOG, 2/1/2010 by Hugh Hewitt - My Washington Examiner column from this morning summarizes my remarks to the House GOP retreat from Saturday morning. ∴ I complimented the Congressmen, and especially Mike Pence, for effectively engaging with the president. The display of the detailed GOP proposals was the image that won the exchange, but between now and November, the GOP will need many more such days. The message discipline from top to bottom has to increase dramatically, and the leading GOP lights have to be as on point as John Boehner was on today's Meet The Press. Benton County AFP Chair: A message from Linda

Hello All,
Remember to always have your petitions available wherever you are, at whatever function you attend. We still need many signatures. Please walk your neighborhoods, and precincts gathering as many as you can. As always urging the signers to do so carefully, so their signatures will not be thrown out. Remember to get your petitions to me, no later than Monday, by noon, as I need to turn them in by Monday afternoon. Remember any questions you might have, call me at 740-1736, or 754-0203.

Upcoming schedule of important events:

Tuesday morning, August 18th, we will be meeting no later than 7:30 at the Republican Headquarters (1760 SW 3rd, by Curves) parking lot, and leaving no later than 7:45, preferably before that. We will go to the Defazio Town Hall meeting in Junction City from 9:00-10:00. My guess is they will possibly be sending in liberals from Corvallis, and Eugene to keep us from getting a seat and asking questions. We need everyone to come out. Make sure your cell phones are charged and ready to take pictures, or if you have a small camcorder, that would be great as well. We can bring our petitions and hopefully will be able to get some signatures.

Tuesday evening, August 18th AFP will have our first local Town Hall meeting. It will be held at the Salbasgeon Suites, 1730 NW 9th St, in the McKenzie Room. It will begin at 6:30. We will be privileged to have with us, Jeff Kropf, State Director of Americans For Prosperity. Please encourage your family, friends, neighbors, and strangers to all come out for that. We must SUPPORT our local efforts. Let's get our first Town Hall off to a great start, and make this a standing room only event.

Thursday August 20th, Americans For Prosperity, have been invited to attend the Republican barbecue at the Philomath Frolic Rodeo grounds, in Philomath. It will feature Sandy's fabulous barbecued tri-tip steak, and chicken. Adults $15.00, children, under 12, $7.50, and Children under 3 are free. Everyone is invited. There will be special activities for the children, and a great time will be had by all.

August 25th will be our 4th Tuesday of the month AFP meeting, beginning at 6:15, at King Tin Restaurant. 1857 NW 9th Street.

Sept. 17th, is Constitution Day. We will be having a Constitution Day Tea Party in front of the Courthouse, from 4:00-6:00 pm. Be making your signs, bring your flags, and start telling your family, friends, neighbors and strangers about this important event. We will have a few extra signs and flags. Let's make this an even bigger one than our Tax Day Tea Party.

You HAVE made a difference. I realize there are lots of activities and events scheduled. I am asking you to mark these dates on your calendar, to make an extra effort to be there. We cannot take a day off. These people, who are purposefully and methodically dismantling the America that we know and love, are not going away. They will persevere, until they accomplish what they have set out to do, unless WE stop them. They have a bigger foothold than any of us ever imagined, and we must be ever vigilant and involved, to fight fiercely, for our freedom.

Thank you all for all you do. YOU have made a difference.

In case your email address isn't on the Presidents' Blackberry...

Here's the Presidents' 4th of July message:
Dear (name),
This weekend, our family will join millions of others in celebrating America. We will enjoy the glow of fireworks, the taste of barbeque, and the company of good friends. As we all celebrate this weekend, let's also remember the remarkable story that led to this day.

Two hundred and thirty-three years ago, our nation was born when a courageous group of patriots pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to the proposition that all of us were created equal.

Our country began as a unique experiment in liberty -- a bold, evolving quest to achieve a more perfect union. And in every generation, another courageous group of patriots has taken us one step closer to fully realizing the dream our founders enshrined on that great day.

Today, all Americans have a hard-fought birthright to a freedom which enables each of us, no matter our views or background, to help set our nation's course. America's greatness has always depended on her citizens embracing that freedom -- and fulfilling the duty that comes with it.

As free people, we must each take the challenges and opportunities that face this nation as our own. As long as some Americans still must struggle, none of us can be fully content. And as America comes ever closer to achieving the perfect Union our founders dreamed, that triumph -- that pride -- belongs to all of us.

So today is a day to reflect on our independence, and the sacrifice of our troops standing in harm's way to preserve and protect it. It is a day to celebrate all that America is. And today is a time to aspire toward all we can still become.

With very best wishes,

President Barack Obama
