Five Points for Resetting America’s Economic Foundation
Speaker Boehner addresses the American Enterprise Institute (AEI):
As reported by Newt Gingrich: Speaker Boehner began with what the House Republicans have accomplished in the last four years, despite Democrats controlling both the Senate and the presidency. Some of their record may surprise you. Republicans cut total federal spending for two straight years--the first time that's happened in half a century. They guaranteed that 98 percent of Americans would not see permanent income tax hikes. And they pushed through free trade agreements with South Korea, Columbia and Panama. These are historic accomplishments. They have real meaning for the lives of millions of Americans. And they create room for future economic growth.

CBO: O-Care slowing growth
The new healthcare law will slow economic growth over the next decade, costing the nation about 2.3 million jobs and contributing to a $1 trillion increase in projected deficits, the Congressional Budget Office said in a report released Tuesday. The non-partisan group’s report found that the healthcare law’s negative effects on the economy will be “substantially larger” than what it had previously anticipated.

How Kansas Governor Brownback Schooled Missouri On Tax Cuts, And Showed The Region How To Grow
I am sitting atop a limestone bluff overlooking the Osage River at my home in Folk, Missouri, and it seems as if the only way to get Congress to reform this country’s tax code is to ask for an intervention by the Great and Powerful Oz. But, here in the nation’s heartland, results from an experiment in state income tax policy just might provide other states with a roadmap to real growth.
You may recall from a past Forbes column by me that laid out the landmark legislation signed into law one year ago by the forward thinking Kansas Governor Sam Brownback. Brownback’s tax plan flattened and simplified the tax code, cut personal income tax rates for most earners from 6.45% to 4.9%, and got rid of small business income taxes.

Does the President Think The Government Got Him Where He Is Today?
Erick Erickson at Red State - It is a lie premised on Marxism. It really is. It is not hyperbole
to say it. Prior to Marx, people did not clearly think of economics as
class divided and did not think of the collective overriding the
individual. Certainly the thinking was there sociologically, but not
crystalized in economics. ✧ As Daniel
Henninger noted in the Wall Street Journal recently,
“There is no theory anywhere in non-Marxist economics that says growth’s
primary engine is a social class. A middle class is the result of
growth, not its cause. Barack Obama not only believes in class-based
growth but has built his whole growth strategy around it.” Read more at Red State

NRO: Palin to Bernanke: 'Cease and Desist'
NATIONAL REVIEW ONLINE 11/7/2010 by Robert Costa - Snippets from Sarah Palin's prepared remarks:
- I’m deeply concerned about the Federal Reserve’s plans to buy up anywhere from $600 billion to as much as $1 trillion of government securities. The technical term for it is “quantitative easing.” It means our government is pumping money into the banking system by buying up treasury bonds. And where, you may ask, are we getting the money to pay for all this? We’re printing it out of thin air.
The Fed hopes doing this may buy us a little temporary economic growth by supplying banks with extra cash which they could then lend out to businesses. But it’s far from certain this will even work. After all, the problem isn’t that banks don’t have enough cash on hand – it’s that they don’t want to lend it out, because they don’t trust the current economic climate. Read more at NRO...
