Rep. Gelser to Host Town Hall with Speaker Dave Hunt

Representative Sara Gelser [D-Dist. 16] will welcome Oregon Speaker of the House Dave Hunt [D-Clackamas County] to Corvallis for an end of session Town Hall Meeting. The two legislators will provide an overview of the 2009 legislative session and take questions from the audience. The event is on Monday, July 20 at 7:00pm at the Corvallis Public Library Large Meeting Room. It is free and open to the public.

"I look forward to the chance to talk with my constituents about the work we did this session, and our community's vision for the future," said Gelser. "I'm also pleased that Speaker Hunt will get the chance to hear from Benton County voters."

Obama set to end Iraq combat operations by Aug 2010

WASHINGTON (Reuters) 6/26/09 - President Barack Obama will announce plans to withdraw all U.S. combat forces from Iraq by August 2010, fulfilling a campaign pledge to wind down an unpopular war that divided Americans, a U.S. Congressional aide said on Thursday.
