The Conservative Case for Reform

WASHINGTON POST, 10/5/2009 (Hat tip: John Detweiler) - Bobbie Jindal, Republican governor of Louisiana, offers ten ideas to increase the affordability and quality of health care.   1. Voluntary purchasing pools
  2. Portability
  3. Lawsuit reform
  4. Require coverage of preexisting conditions
  5. Transparency and payment reform
  6. Electronic medical records
  7. Tax-free health savings accounts
  8. Reward healthy lifestyle choices
  9. Cover young adults (Permit young people to stay on their parents' plans longer)
  10. Refundable tax credits (for the uninsured and those who would benefit from greater flexibility of coverage)

Jindal glad Steele apologized to Rush

NEWSMAX 3/3/2009 - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal called Rush Limbaugh an important leader of the conservative movement Monday night and said he was glad that Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele had apologized for describing Limbaugh’s show as “ugly” and ‘incendiary.” But he also described Steele as a “breath of fresh air” for the Republican Party.
