AT: The Purposeful Flooding of America's Heartland
AMERICAN THINKER, 6/22/2011 by Joe Herring - "Some sixty years ago, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) began the process of taming the Missouri by constructing a series of six dams. The idea was simple: massive dams at the top moderating flow to the smaller dams below, generating electricity while providing desperately needed control of the river's devastating floods." (Snip) "Preservation of habitat for at-risk bird and fish populations soon became a hot issue among the burgeoning environmental lobby. The pressure to satisfy the demands of these groups grew exponentially as politicians eagerly traded their common sense for "green" political support." Read more at American Thinker...

AT: A Subtle Tyranny
If you think San Francisco's attempt to ban circumcision is harmless, read this article. It's not. This article also relates to the green movement here in Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon and America.
- AMERICAN THINKER, 2011 by Fay Voshell Tyranny does not always initially come like the wolf on the fold, red in tooth and claw. Sometimes it comes tip-toeing on velvet little feet, quietly, one soft step at a time. ∴ It often comes in simple guise, as seemingly reasonable requests made one at a time. Incremental demands accumulate, build up noiselessly and slowly, but eventually with increasingly rapid pace. Read More at American Thinker

NAS: An Interview with Holly Swanson
We first learned of the organization Operation Green Out! while researching Second Nature, a Boston-based group that seeks to make sustainability the “foundation of all learning and practice in higher education.” We found that thus far Operation Green Out! seems to be the sole challenger of Second Nature’s education for sustainability agenda, and that it has launched a campaign “to get green politics out in the open and out of the classroom.” Holly Swanson, the organization’s founder and director, is the author of Set Up and Sold Out: Find Out What Green Really Means, and she is a nationwide speaker on the “Green movement” and its “plan to use public education to politically indoctrinate.” By way of introducing NAS members and readers to Ms. Swanson and Operation Green Out! we asked her for an interview to be published on the NAS website. She graciously agreed; read her responses to our questions...
