Ending racial segregation of the military was a Republican policy

By Michael Zak - Chris Matthews has accused Rush Limbaugh of wanting to reverse the racial integration of the U.S. military. Of course, that's nonsense. Rush Limbaugh defended himself well, pointing out that President Truman had to issue an executive order to get around opposition by racist congressional Democrats. Rush also cites the fact that racial segregation of the military had been imposed by a Democrat president, Woodrow Wilson. ✧ However, there is even more to the story.
