Bob Tiernan selected by Michael Steele, newly elected Chairman of the Republican National Committee, to help lead his transition team...
Bob Tiernan, Chairman of the Oregon Republican Party, has been tapped by Michael Steele to help lead Steele’s transition team in assuming the role of Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC).
Tiernan was a key supporter of Steele and helped lead the effort that resulted in Steele being elected as the first African-American Chairman of the RNC. Steele is the former Lt. Governor of Maryland, a commentator for Fox News Channel and most recently
served as Chairman of GOPAC.
Tiernan said, “I am honored to be selected by Chairman Steele to help lead his transition team as he takes over as Chairman of the RNC. I think my talents and background in managing companies and starting businesses will be put to good use helping Chairman Steele and the Republican Party.”
Tiernan’s leadership role will help to ensure the perspectives of west coast Republicans are represented at the national level. Chairman Steele is expected to visit Oregon in the near future to thank Oregon for its leadership role in his election.
Tiernan went on to say, “It’s an exciting time for Republicans. Michael Steele is the right person, at the right time, to lead the Republican Party forward. His experience, leadership, character and ability to articulate Republican principles are exactly what the Republicans need right now. I am honored to serve on his transition team.”
